The Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification builds on the PCP compliance knowledge by developing to prepare seasoned professionals to manage a payroll department. It provides you with the knowledge to make decisions, supervise and manage, and contribute a payroll perspective to organizational policy and strategy discussions. General Insurance Salesperson/Adjuster – Level 1 Licensing (GIE)

Fall ONLY - Avoid disappointment, register early!

This course uses the (GIE) materials, and provides the training required by the Insurance Council of BC for anyone wanting to obtain a Level 1 Salesperson or Independent Adjuster - Level 1 Licence. It introduces the student to risk, risk management and loss prevention, insurance categories and functions, insurance companies and sales distribution, insurance as a contract and policy, underwriting and rating, claims, automobile insurance, property/liability insurance (homeowner, other, commercial), ethics, regulatory framework, and techniques for career success.
Once the education portion is completed, the successful candidate is required to have the sponsorship (employment) of a licenced insurance agency or licenced independent adjusting firm in order to obtain a Level 1 licence from?the Insurance Council of BC. Successful exam completion results are considered valid for?one year from exam completion date.? Applicants waiting longer than one year to obtain a licence will be required to rewrite the exam.

IIBC membership, administration and exam costs are included in the course price. Students purchase course manuals (approx. $308 available in August) from the Interurban bookstore.?

Successful graduates of this program will be awarded a Certificate of Completion from the Insurance Institute of BC.?In addition, the successful candidate will be eligible to apply for an equivalency credit in the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation program of the Insurance Institute of Canada, for the C11: Principles and Practices of Insurance* course. (*Please note the C11 course on its own does not meet licensing requirements.)
