Blacksmithing - Sculptural

This will be a four day project and?will introduce participants to the principals of designing for forged metals and cover a range of blacksmithing techniques.
The project will be a freestanding sculptural piece based on plant form.? Participants will begin following a design produced by myself, but with room to develop creative elements of their own, and so personalize the piece. Given the technical nature of controlling forged metal this will create a good balance between learned skills and creative expectations.
Techniques and tooling will all be driven towards the ‘backyard blacksmith’ to show what can be achieved just by hand and with minimal specialist equipment.
Personal protective equipment provided, please wear non-flammable clothing, long pants and sturdy footwear.
No experience necessary
